Raising funds for research, education and awareness. Providing support and programs for the CM/SM community since 1988.

WHEN: September 15, 2018, 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Bretton Woods Recreation Center

The dove balloon release will continue!!! After two years, we seem to have a system down and I am excited to watch the doves float away for a third year. The dove balloons are biodegradable non-Latex.

Individuals can purchase a balloon for $5 in memory of, in honor of, or in support of anyone! This does not have to be chiari or syringomyelia related individual.

We feel that everyone deserves acknowledgement for their journey!

To order, press the “GIVE” button at the top right of this page. You will be prompted to fill out a form to donate $5 for a dove. PLEASE check the “show dollar amount” box so I will know the donation is for a dove and email me at stating who you purchased a dove for and how you would like their name read.

The dove release will occur right before the start of the walk. There will be a reading of names and then the doves will be released.

My name is Molly Lichtenstein. When I was 16 I was diagnosed with Chiari and Syringomyelia. After my first surgery at 16, I realized there was a huge lack of awareness in the medical community and the general public. That needed to be changed! I have participated and organized walks for the benefit of Chiari and Syringo since 2009. This is my fourth year with The American Syringomyelia and Chiari Alliance Project (aka! Every year we look at what we did the previous year and what can be changed to make this year better. I need YOUR help to make the 2018’s Walk and Roll the best one yet! Our goal is for our walk to raise $27,000! Last year we raised $23,940, and our goal was $29,000. I am truly thankful for all the support I have been given over the years! Without you all, NONE of this would be possible!

Since my first surgery in 2009 I have had 29 brain and spine surgeries and have been diagnosed with many other underlying issues: Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome, Hydrocephalus, and 4th nerve palsy. My goal of $29,000 comes from the fact that on December 19, 2017 I had my 29th Chiari related surgery. In my opinion this is NOT ok. As this journey continues, my view on things has changed. But the one thing that remains the same, is the fact that we NEED more research for better treatments and hopefully one day a cure! I am passionate about furthering research for Chiari and Syringomyelia and I look forward to "Walking and Rolling" for a cure!
